Biography of Toshi Kasuga
Toshi Kasuga(Drummer,Musician,Sound Producer,Trax)
Born in Chicago,Illinois,raised in Sanfransisco,California
Toshi starts drumming at age six but cannot reach the foot pedals, so recommended my his music teacher he starts to learn piano.
At age seven he starts marching in drum&bugle corps in the Sanfransisco area.
After moving to Japan in 1980, he attends school orchestras,jazz bands, musicals and starts playing professionally for local bands.
After graduating high school he moves back to the US to study music.
In 1990,Toshi starts his musical career in Tokyo.
In 1994,he has an opportunity to tech for Dave Weckl(legendary drummer) where he is recognized by "Hagi"Hagiwara(former Yamaha drum designer&artist relations).
Now associated with Yamaha,his career goes on to teaching, designing, programming and demonstrating acoustic and electronic drums(DTX series) .
By this time Toshi starts to play with many Singers and Artists such as: Masahiko Kondo, Atsuhiro Sato, Haruna, Smooth Ace, Sora Izumikawa, marhy, Tsubasa Makoto, Satori Shiraishi, Naohito Fujiki, Olivia Ong, Emi&Voce, Byron Cage, Ronnie Rucker, Glynis Martin, Argie Phine, Al Martin, just to name a few.
Toshi also plays and produces for commercials such as Suntory Whiskey[ZEN], Orange Pop,etc. ,and recently sound produced a full cover album for Olivia Ong.
Toshi is also the official cymbal specialist for Zildjian cymbals in Japan.
Toshi Kasuga plays YAMAHA Drums and Zildjian Cymbals exclusively.
